Arsenal Football Club former manager, Arsene Wenger said he is tempted with a possible return to club management at Bundesliga giant, Bayern Munich.
Wenger revealed that he is willing to talk to the club over replacing Niko Kovac.
The 70-year-old has been out of work since leaving Arsenal in the summer of 2018 but has turned down several job offers in favour of a break from the game following 22 years in north London.
It has been suggested that Wenger had agreed terms on a deal to join Fifa as technical director but as Standard Sport reported on Wednesday, the Frenchman has in fact been stalling on signing a contract for months as ponders one final managerial post.
Bayern won the domestic double in Germany last season but sacked Kovac on Monday following a 5-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt which leaves them languishing in fourth place in the Bundesliga, having won just five of their opening 10 matches.
Wenger is thought to be the frontrunner after Red Bull Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick ruled himself out of consideration and although there has not been any contact from Bayern as yet, he is open to discussing the vacancy as he decides his next move in the coming days.
Wenger revealed that he is enjoying his break from the game, taking the opportunity to engage in media work while also finally agreeing a deal to write his autobiography after years of rejecting offers.
Wenger previously revealed that he rejected the chance to manage other unnamed Premier League clubs since leaving Arsenal but believes he was “too linked” to the Gunners to accept.
