The president of Christ Gospel Apostolic Church, Ezekiel Oyedele has claimed that corrupt individuals within the nation’s security infrastructure are impeding President Bola Tinubu’s attempts to clean up and improve the effectiveness of the security system in Nigeria.

Oyedele stated this in a press conference titled ‘The Message to the Nation’ on Tuesday. He said that the alleged unscrupulous elements in the nation’s security architecture are the root cause of the country’s multi-faceted security threats, resulting in the continuous emergence of new insurgent groups despite the government’s efforts to combat existing ones.

He said “There is a compromise in the nation’s security architecture, and it is fueling insecurity, banditry, and kidnapping in the country.”

While commending President Bola Tinubu’s initiatives to curb the escalating security threats in the country, Ezekiel Oyedele urged all Nigerians to rally behind the President’s economic plans.

In his word, “The message I received was in connection with Nigeria, which is passing through some economic, political, and social challenges. The economy is shaking while people are suffering from corruption and economic mismanagement.

“Without any vestige of doubt, the level of poverty, unemployment, and inequality is on the rise. Politically, the country is marred with division, greed, and selfish ambition, while social challenges, including an increase in crime rate, inequality, injustice, as well as religious and ethnic tensions, are evident in the country.

“The Lord, however, assured me that Nigeria could overcome all these afore-mentioned challenges as God is ready to restore Nigeria back to her glory of the past. However, Nigerians should possess the spirit of repentance, unity and progress.”

To address the multifaceted challenges impeding Nigeria’s progress and development, Ezekiel Oyedele revealed that the Lord Almighty ordained a 3-day period of fasting and prayer for all Nigerians, starting immediately from February 24th to 26th, 2025.

The cleric quoted Second Chronicles chapter 7 vs 14 – “ If my people who are called by name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then, I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

“These prayers cut across religion: Christians, Muslims and other religions who believe in God are enjoined to participate in this prayer programme.”

However, he projected a reduction in the prices of food and essential commodities throughout the year, calling on Nigerians to remain fervent in their prayers and maintain a spirit of humility.
