FCT Police Boosts Security Presence over Reports of Bandit Infiltration

In response to reports from vigilant citizens about the infiltration of bandits into Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has taken decisive action to safeguard the city.

The Command has deployed both personnel and resources to key areas within and around the city in order to deter and respond to any potential threats to the safety and security of residents.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of the public in keeping the city secure, FCT Police Commissioner Benneth Igweh has expressed his gratitude to citizens for their sharp awareness and swift reporting of potential threats. He implores residents to continue cooperating with law enforcement by providing timely and valuable information, which will serve as an essential tool in the ongoing struggle against insecurity within Abuja.

Due to reports circulating on social media about the alleged presence of suspected bandits in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command spokesperson Josephine Adeh released a statement on Monday. The statement acknowledged the reports and assured the public that the Command was monitoring the situation and taking appropriate steps to safeguard the city.

Consequent to the alleged entry, the Commissioner of Police FCT, Igweh wishes to appreciate members of the public for their outstanding environmental alertness.

“He admonishes the general public to always give useful information to the Police to aid its efforts in the fight against insecurity within the state.

“He, therefore, urges residents to go about their lawful business without fear from any quarters, as the command has made all necessary deployments of both material and physical assets, and is working assiduously to ensure the safety of all residents and avert any intended attack within the Nation’s capital.”
