My name is Akinwamide Kehinde Michelle, a banking and finance student of the Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti state, an entrepreneur, co- owner of *Michpearl_beautifys* Lover of God, I’m so in love with nature

Can you marry a twin?

Yes, I can

How do you feel about being a twin?

I feel so happy and proud having someone to wear matching designers with, someone to share my happy and sad experience with any time, someone that knows about me and understands me, a replica of myself part of me, playmate, roomie, there is a lot of fun being a twin.

Have you gained any favour for being a twin?

Yes, so many favours

Some years ago, we were meant to get to a conference at a particular time but we got there late because of Lagos traffic. When we got there, registration has been closed, nothing to do than to return back home.  But due to the fact that we are twins, we were favored, the convener was a twin too, so we were allowed to register, sit for the conference and we were given extra souvenir. We got a free ticket to watch an interesting movie at Silverbird cinema same day. People compliment us with gifts, pray for us, pay our bills take us out, surprise packages from friends.

Do you keep secrets from your twin?

No, I can’t even try to because I will be exposed eventually. So it’s not possible for me.

I’m her sound recorder; I always like to share everything with her.

Share your Craziest childhood memories

Craziest childhood memories?

Anytime I offend our elder sisters or brother, I and my twin will exchange clothe and she will be beaten for my offensive actions. (We don’t put on same clothe when we were young, so that they could be able to identify us). Collecting money from our parent twice especially our dad. When one of us gets beaten but both of us cried together, going unpunished at times because they don’t know who is who. Being a twin is just so fun.

Tell us about your twin?

My twin is lovely, amazing, pain in my ass, she is my teacher, my mentor, someone that could go extra mines to see me happy, my pillar of support, my workaholic part, stories lover, she could be infuriating at times but I still love her, sonorous singer. I will choose her over and over again.

What’s the greatest sacrifice you have done for your twin?

Greatest sacrifice in 2011, I had eye problem. I couldn’t go to school for 6 months, I visited one hospital to other undergoing different tests. She goes to school, eat, bath, do homework alone.  I finished one packet of paracetamol in a week, taking ice cube box everywhere just to reduce the pain. I went for an operation and to God be the glory it was successful. But I was told I had to use glasses to correct it perfectly. Pardon, I didn’t concur, I ignored the pain,  all I said was, I can’t use glasses, people will identify us, if I use it my face will change . I don’t want to be different from my twin everyone begged me  but I didn’t agree, I was just too emotional, instead of me to talk to her, I will be crying. So my mum reach out to our Indian consultant He said if I don’t want to use glasses, I have to take a particular medicine which will cost 6500 twice in a month for 1 year. Yea! amazed too? I  found it   more comfortable then the glasses. Just because of the her and the bond we share, I  had to endure taking bitter medicine and keep enduring the pain. Glory be to Jehovah, I’m ok now.

Do things happen coincidentally to you both?

Yes, countless times. Anything that happens to her do happens to me later though some are painful while some are good

Putting on same clothes, is it a big deal for you both?

When we were younger we don’t put on the same cloth because we were so identical, so for our parent to identify us we had to put on different colour of the same cloth. But we notice that putting on the same outfit attract people to us, makes it more difficult to identify us and it also make people to pray for such wonderful gift. Moreover my elder sisters (twins)  loves to put on the same outfit, even if one of them goes out before the other wakes up, she will leave a note telling her twin how to style her hair, the type of cloth and Shoe to wear. So we considered putting on the same outfit. It makes our elder sisters jealous too.

Shout out to your twin

My Pearl, Taiyelolu my amazing twin, a rare GEM, my pillar of support…part of me, all of me, the one that has always been there for me. Thanks for everything.

I want you to understand that as much as we play and joke, I’m forever grateful to God giving you to me! True friends are rare and cannot be bought with money! I love the bound we share and don’t take it for granted. I thank God for giving me significant best part that has helped and will still help my BECOMING.

I’m grateful that you didn’t keep quiet, saying you want to mind your business at the time when you’re meant to speak sense into my head. Thank you for pushing me to growth and help me set my priorities right at periods when I suddenly become disorganized, thanks for seeing the brighter side of things even at point where I have given up on myself, thanks  for not leaving my life at points where I mistakenly stepped on your toes.

Thanks for growing with me  despite the fight, quarrels and disagreement and haven’t left me alone to my folly especially during periods where I feel I am right not knowing that I’m trading on a part that would lead me to disaster! I love you so much sis!!!!
