Nigeria @60: Kwara Deputy Governor advocates consistent prayers for Nigeria

The deputy governor of Kwara State, Mr Kayode Alabi, has called on the good people of Kwara State and Nigeria at large not to relent in praying for the country.

Mr Alabi, made this known on Sunday at the Thanksgiving service organised to celebrate the 60th independent anniversary of Nigeria held in Calvary Baptist Church, Ga-Akanbi, Ilorin Kwara state.

The deputy governor disclosed that, it is imperative for Nigerian to embrace great mindset and identify one another as an indivisible structure irrespective of the ethno-religious differences.

In addition, the ministering, Bishop Sunday Timothy Adewole, while delivering the independent sermon described sin as a form that only award reproach to people.

He urged Nigerian to abstain from sins and stick to God who is above all and able to pay back whatever they sow.

Also reacting, the Kwara State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) chairman, Most Rev. P.A Olawoore, thanked God for the life of Nigerian and enjoyed government at all levels to focus on mitigation of poverty and hunger confronting the land.

The service was attended by top Government functionaries ranging from the Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Olanrewaju Adetiba, The state Head of Service, Mrs Susan Oluwole, Members of the State House of Assembly, Deputy Chief of Staff, Princess Adebukola Babalola, Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Florence Oyeyemi, Commissioner for Communication, Mrs Harriet Oshatimehin, Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Juliana Oyedun, S.A. Christian Religion, Rev. Samuel Adedayo, among others.
