Nigerians’ Current Challenges a Reflection of Their Choices – Apostle Suleman
The Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries Apostle Johnson Suleman, has asserted that the current economic challenges facing the nation can be attributed to the less-than-ideal decisions made during the 2023 election process, highlighting the importance of thoughtful leadership in navigating the socioeconomic landscape.
During the ‘Recovery Conference 2025,’ a two-day event held in Bauchi State from Tuesday to Wednesday, Apostle Johnson Suleman revealed his analysis of the current economic hardship, attributing the situation to misguided choices made during the 2023 elections.
As part of his itinerary prior to the conference, the Cleric extended a courtesy visit to the Government House in Bauchi, engaging in a meeting with the state’s governor, Bala Mohammed, to strengthen relationships and discuss relevant matters.
The Apostle commended Governor Mohammed for his leadership and hospitality, extolling him as “a man of honour” and offering prayers for continued progress in the state. Accompanying Suleman were several senior pastors, including the esteemed Dr. Kingsley Aigbe, who also expressed their support and appreciation for the governor’s work.
Despite the warm reception and camaraderie experienced at the Government House, Apostle Johnson Suleman did not shy away from addressing the nation’s current situation during a subsequent exchange with journalists. Without mincing words, he attributed the country’s struggles to the decisions made by Nigerians during the 2023 elections, condemning the choices that led to the present state of affairs.
He said “What Nigerians are going through is partly what they deserve. Before the election, we cried out, we screamed, we yelled. The man (President Bola Tinubu) who came into leadership had no manifesto—just a sense of entitlement with his ‘it’s my turn’ mantra.”
Suleman was particularly critical of President Tinubu’s administration, lambasting its policy decisions and mismanagement of the country’s oil sector, arguing that these factors contributed to the economic hardship that Nigerians are currently facing
“The oil sector has been plundered. In the next 10 to 15 years, I don’t think Nigerians will recover from the damage. Now, all we can do is pray,” he lamented.
The Apostle appealed to Nigerians, urging them to take stock of the consequences of their voting decisions before the next election cycle in 2027.
