Pastor E.A. Adeboye Denounces AI-Generated Deepfake Videos
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has strongly refuted any association with AI-generated videos falsely portraying him as endorsing certain drugs and scholarship programs.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Pastor Adeboye cautioned the public against deceptive social media posts from entities such as “Africa Health Centre” and “Church-Funded Scholarships.” He emphasized that he had no involvement in these promotions and urged individuals to refrain from engaging with or sharing such misleading content.
“These videos are NOT from me, and I want to make it clear that I have no involvement in such promotions,” he stated, calling on the public to report the fraudulent accounts to curb further misinformation.
The revered clergyman assured the public that the relevant authorities were already addressing the situation. He also condemned the misuse of God’s name for deceptive purposes, stressing the need for integrity and truth in all communications.
The rise of AI-generated deepfake videos has become a growing concern, with manipulated content being used to spread false narratives involving politicians, celebrities, and religious leaders. As such, Pastor Adeboye’s warning serves as a reminder for the public to remain vigilant and verify information before accepting or disseminating it.
