PDP accuses Buhari of compromising Nigeria’s security
The Peoples Democratic Party has accused President Muhammadu Buhari for covering up mindless killing in the country.
Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina has said on Monday during a television show that Muhammadu Buhari-led administration was working with security agencies to get solid evidence against terrorism financiers before charging them to court.
Reacting to Adesina’s statement, PDP spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan on Tuesday said the refusal by the Buhari government to expose sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria shows that “its hands are not clean”.
The PDP added that the refusal shows that the All Progressives Congress-led government has been allegedly providing official cover for insurgents and bandits terrorising the country.
The statement reads: “The decision of the APC-led government to cover the identity of sponsors of mindless mass killings, maiming, raping, kidnapping of our compatriots as well as the endless violent marauding of our communities under the APC watch, validates our stand that such individuals have connections with the APC.
“This unpatriotic stance by the Buhari Presidency raises serious national anxieties of high-level complicity in the administration and further explains the reported compromising of our security system in the escalated killings and acts of terrorism in our country in the last six years under the APC.”
The main opposition Party however, challenged the Buhari presidency to immediately publish the names of the sponsors of terrorism given to it by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
