A recent report by Washington Post revealed that 37 Republic senators are expected to vote against both articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.
Following the result of impeachment vote in House of Representatives that was based on party differences, the report concluded that it is unlikely that the Republican-controlled Senate would vote to convict Trump for abuse of power or for obstruction of Congress.
The report said that it is mathematically impossible for Trump to be removed from office, assuming the 37 number holds. A two-thirds majority of senators present would have to vote to convict on one or both articles of impeachment to remove Trump from office.
