Flying Eagles defender Ozornwafor on potential transfer to Turkish Super League
Flying Eagles defender Valentine Ozornwafor is in discussion with Galatasaray over a possible move to the Turkish Super League champions.
According to report, the 19 year old left the Flying Eagles camp in Ingolstadt, Germany on Monday for Istanbul to hold talks with the Turkish giants.
Ozornwafor was no doubt a key performer for Nigeria at the 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger earlier this year, and was named in the team of the tournament along with captain of the team, Ikouwen Udoh.
The centre-back who is currently in the books of seven-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Enyimba, earned his first call-up to the Super Eagles for the dead rubber 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Seychelles and the friendly encounter versus Egypt in March, both in Asaba.
He however did not partake in any of the two games as he was one of the four players sent on a rescue mission to the U-23 side in the Olympics qualifier against Libya.
However a source questioned if the left-footed defender will actually be signed to the Turkish champions.
Meanwhile Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru is currently with Galatasaray on loan from English Premier League outfit Everton.
