More coronavirus patients recover in Lagos

The Lagos State government is set to discharge 6 patients that earlier tested positive for CORONAVIRUS following their recovery.

“Tomorrow, we are going to discharge six of the (coronavirus) patients in Lagos,” Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, said this on a radio programme on Thursday in Lagos.

Also, confirming the development, a Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, Tunde Ajayi twitted, “6 of our #COVID19 inpatients have recovered and will be discharged soon”.

Lagos has the highest number of 44 confirmed cases while Abuja has 12 cases. Ogun State has three cases. Ekiti, Oyo, Edo, Bauchi, Osun and Rivers State have one case each to put the total of confirmed cases in Nigeria at 51 as at Thursday 9:45 pm.

To prevent further spread of the virus, the federal government and state governments have barred gathering of not less than 20 people.

Lagos State Government has also asked 70% of its workforce to work from home for two weeks and shut all schools.

The state also ordered the closure of all markets and recreational centres from Thursday for a week to curb the spread. Only those that provide essential services are to remain open.
