Retired Assistant Inspector General’s Wife Abducted in Ogun State
A distressing development has emerged as the wife of retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu was kidnapped from her residence in Ogun State’s Arepo district, sparking concern for her well-being and a call for swift action by security agencies.
According to reports, Mrs. Odumosu was forcibly taken from her home in the early hours of Friday by a group of armed men who arrived at her residence and began firing shots into the air, creating a chaotic scene and leaving the victim’s family and neighbors in fear for her safety.
The Ogun State Police Command’s spokesperson Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta, stating that the police force acted with swiftness and decisiveness, dispatching a team of operatives to the scene to pursue the swift and safe release of Mrs. Odumosu.
Odutola said.,“Information was received regarding the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, a female resident of Aminu Street, Arepo, Ogun State.
“Reports indicate that she was about to enter her home when four masked men attacked her, dragged her from her Lexus Jeep, and took her through swampy areas to an unknown location.”
He further elaborated that the Divisional Police Officer has taken charge of the situation, leading a team of officers to the crime scene, where they are actively scouring the dense, swampy terrain in a determined effort to locate Mrs. Odumosu and bring her to safety.
The ongoing rescue operation also enlisted the assistance of local security forces from the riverine regions, particularly Baale Warewa and Baale Maaba, with these community-based security personnel lending their expertise to aid in the search.
Odutola added, “The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has been briefed, and all covert operations have been deployed to assist with digital intelligence to ensure she is rescued unhurt.”
