COVID-19: FG lists four drugs for patients’ trial treatment

Nigeria’s Health Minister, Osagie Ehanire has said the Federal Government has enrolled the use of four drugs for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The four drugs that will be monitored in the solidarity trial are Remdesivir; Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine; Lopinavir, and Ritonavir.

Ehanire, during the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 on Monday said the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, Sokoto and Kano States have been listed on the World Health Organisation (WHO) treatment regimen on solidarity drug trials.

He said, during his briefing, Nigeria has increased testing by an additional 1,127 to make a total of 27,078 tests.

According to him, Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Borno States have the highest numbers of cases.
