Nigerian singer and producer, Augustine Miles Kelechi popularly known as Tekno, has taken to social media to make a suggestion about salary increment for an average police officer to the tune of N250,000.
The music star revealed in a recent tweet shared to his official account of 1.3 million followers that police officers should be paid N250, 000 per month.
He tweeted: “Increase police salaries to 250k a month.”
However, they have been a mixed reaction about his suggestion as some Nigerians maintain that money is not the problem.
Rowland YINKA SHOBANKE @ShobankeRowland tweeted: “Even if they are paid a million in a month they will still collect bribe.”
Odeogbola Saheed@Olayinwola in his tweet said: Even if they collect millions as salary they will still collect bribe. It’s already in their blood. Their slogan suppose to be “Thieves of the nation”.
While another user, Dr Law@Lawrendozi tweeted: “Improve the qualifications and training required to get into the Nigerian Police Force.”
