On January 20th 2021 President Donald Trump left the White House for President Joe Biden who was sworn in as the 46th President of the United State. He had since moved to his palatial Mar-a-lago estate in Florida.

All through his tenure, Trump initiated controversial legislations that torn into the social fabrics of the American society. He reduced the enforcement of some environmental regulations and withdrew the county from the Paris Accord. He also blocked the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and signed the Tax cuts and Jobs Act in 2017 that saw to the reduction of tax for big corporation, his immediate constituency.

The former US President also tightened the migration policy of the government as he controversially implemented Family Separation Policy for Migrants especially those coming from the Caribbean and South America. He unilaterally took actions that made him more controversial and pitched him against some of his traditional allies.

The United States has been a world power and a major stakeholder in the peace settlement in the Middle-East, especially between Israel and Palestine, and its other Arab neigbours. President Trump and his administration agreed a major arms sale to the Saudi Arabia and recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and also escalated tension with Iran after he withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement. The climax of the tension was the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani of the Iranian Military Guard.

In early 2020, as the coronavirus ravaged countries across the globe and world leaders worked round the clock to find a lasting solution to the pandemic, President Trump would rather play politics with the pandemic claim it was a China Disease. He consistently downplayed the threat posed by the virus to the US and accused opposition Democrats of exaggerating the seriousness of the situation.

Before the end of March 2020, the country became the epicenter of the disease with the US having the highest number of confirmed cases with over 80,000 cases and by April, it had recorded over 20,000 deaths as a result of the virus. Trump unilaterally contributed to the spread of the disease in that part of the world with misinformation, partisan comments and disregard to guidelines.

He was able to divide the country along racial line with his comment and actions. On June 1, 2020, he ordered various security forces including hundreds of police officer and the National Guard who used smoke canisters, rubber bullets and shields to disperse peaceful protesters across the White House.

The president eventually left the white house with an unenviable legacy. His many unguarded comments led to the invasion of the US Capitol on January 6, in an effort to disrupt a joint session of the Congress that met to certify the Electoral College vote and affirm the election of President Joe Biden. This led him to be the president of the United State that was impeached twice in a single term.

While the world watch as President Joe Biden reverses much of Trumps policies, President Donald Trump would remain in the world history book as a world leader whose leadership style almost plunged the world into another round of World War.
