In what seems to be a recurring decimal, bandits on Tuesday launch attack on road users at a community in Zamfara State, killed two persons, abducted many others, burnt vehicles as well as motorcycles.

Sources close to Impact Nigeria News disclosed that the incident occurred along Wanke–Bawa Ganga road, near Kwaren-Ganuwa community in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

It was gathered that the bandits, who rode motorcycles, suddenly appeared, carried out the attack on those plying the road, killed two persons who were apparently passengers and went away with others before setting two buses carrying the passengers ablaze. They also set motorcycles of riders who fled on sighting them on fire.

They were also said to have collected large sums of money from some of the passengers who were able to pay for their freedom before they left with others who could not meet up with their financial demands.

The source said : “It is deeply worrying that such attacks continue unabated across the Northwest region of Nigeria. Communities remain vulnerable as bandits move freely, carrying out killings, kidnappings and destruction with little resistance.”

As of the time of this report, neither the state government nor any security agencies had responded to the abduction carried out by the bandits.
