Some political thugs were said to have cut the wrist of a young man during a crowd control moment when the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, visited a community in the state.
The incident occurred during a visit of the governor to the Talata Mafara community over the incessant cases of bandit attacks ravaging some communities in the state.
A competent source in the state told Impact Nigeria News Online on Thursday evening that before the arrival of the governor, the crowd became unruly and some thugs used the excuse of controlling the crowd to unleash mayhem, brandishing weapons, including machetes, daggers, swords, as well as guns.
It was gathered that as the political thugs brandished the weapons and under the guise of controlling the crowd, one of them was said to have chopped off the wrist of the young man, whose name was given as Huzaifa Mai Samari, causing him to writhe in excruciating pain.
The young man was rushed to a nearby hospital while some of the thugs fled on seeing the extent of damage caused by one of them.
The governor later arrived the community after the man was injured but there was no indication whether the incident was brought to his attention.
As of the time of this report, Huzaifa was still at the undisclosed hospital receiving
treatment.
