A man who was said to be an informant to bandits at a community in Kaduna State was on Wednesday fished out by residents and lynched to death.
Residents of Jenau community, Anchau axis of Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State, were said to have given the unnamed informant jungle justice after he was found to be collaborating with the marauders.
He was said to have supplied bandits with intelligence on civilian movements and potential targets, enabling kidnappers and bandits to have the opportunity to kill some residents, injure others and abduct some.
A source in Kaduna State told Impact Nigeria News Online on Thursday, February 5, that the man was fished out on Wednesday morning, given the beating of his life before he was eventually killed.
Men of the state police command were said to have arrived shortly after the killing took place and they were said to have taken his remains away.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under constant attacks by bandits and terrorists while some intelligence reports have indicated that the marauders sometimes operate freely in some communities because some residents give them information about the movement of community members.
As of the time of this report, the state police command is yet to issue statement regarding the incident.
