Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said the Present government of President Muhammadu Buhari has invested more on capital projects than any other government since 1999.

The VP stated further that such investment was possible because President Buhari is not “stealing the money.”

Osinbajo said this when he hosted volunteers of the concluded Presidential election in the villa on Thursday.

He pointed out that contrary to the believe in some quarters that Nigerians seek financial and material gains from government and its officials, he revealed his experience during the campaign: “during our campaign to Kwara state, while I was in one of the market, a market woman present vegetable to me. Also in Idanre, Ondo state, while I was greeting and having handshake with the market women, one of the women slipped a two hundred naira note into my hand.

“These are women that are supposed to benefit from our Social Investment Programmes like the Trader Moni and Market Moni yet they contributed their little to support our campaign,” he said.

The Vice President promised all that the government would not forget the effort of the volunteers and reward them accordingly.

Osinbajo said that the government would work with social media influencers who work with the campaign team to sell the achievement of the government to the people.

Present at the event were members of the Professor Yemi Osinbajo Media Research Team , All Progressives Congress Situation Room, Good Governance for Nigeria (GOGAN), and other volunteer groups from across the country.
