A 50-year-old woman who was found in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition being taken to terrorists in Kaduna has been arrested by soldiers in the state.

On September 9, troops of Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force, Operation Fansan YAMMA, acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorist ammunition, arrested the woman, whose name was not disclosed and who was found in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag in Igabi Local Government Area.

Preliminary investigation revealed that she had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, Nasarawa State, where she received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.

During her interrogation, she was said to have given useful information to the soldiers while the woman and the recovered bullets are in military custody for further investigation.

In a related development, also on September 9, the troops, in collaboration with a community vigilante group, apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in the same local government area of the state.

During interrogation and a search of the suspect, troops recovered four communication devices suspected to be used by terrorists. The suspect and recovered items are in military custody for further investigation.
