The United States has strongly condemned Nigerian Army over the use of force against unarmed #EndSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.

The US Government position was communicated by Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo on Thursday.

Pompeo demanded prosecution of security personnel involved in the shootings.

“The United States strongly condemns incidents of military forces firing on unarmed protesters in Lagos.

“Those involved should be held to account under the law,” he tweeted.

The US top diplomat extended America’s condolences to the victims of the violence and their families.

The Nigerian Army is yet to admit responsibility for the shootings where 12 protesters according to Amnesty International were killed and many injured.
