The Senate President, Bukola Saraki is said to have snubbed the out-going Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, yesterday at the closing ceremony of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

It was said that “the scenario ensued when the ex-IGP made the traditional salute to the Senate president, Saraki, who avoided hand shake with Idris and instead moved to the service chiefs who were standing in a row with the ex-IGP.”

However, that claim has been untrue as the senate president did really shake hand with the outgoing Inspector General of Police.

Although, the senate under the leadership of Saraki has described the former police boss as the most partisan IG.

The two individuals have been sworn enemies ever since the Offa Robbery incident that the police under Idris linked to the Senate president.

Meanwhile in the light of the ceremony, President Muhammadu Buhari, in company of Saraki and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen later led other dignitaries to lay wreath in hounour of men and women of the force who died in active service.

Buhari also led others to sign the register as well as release a set of white pigeons to signify peace.
