A 55-year-old man has been arrested by men of the Ondo State Police Command after he was accused of impregnating his sister’s 15-year-old daughter.
The man, Ademola Joshua, was arrested in Ilara Mokin area of the state following a report lodged regarding his shameful act.
It was gathered that a concerned resident reported at the police station that the man had unlawful sexual intimacy with his niece which resulted in the teenager getting pregnant.
The concerned resident disclosed that the lid was blown off when the girl confessed that her uncle impregnated her and attempted to procure drugs for the termination of the pregnancy.
When the matter was reported at the station, policemen went to the man’s house and he was arrested.
According to the state police command in a statement on Monday regarding the incident, after receiving the report and the arrest of the man, the case has been referred to the Gender Based Violence unit of the command for more investigation.
The man was said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and he is expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation into the shameful act.
