The reports had stated that the wedding guests were abducted around 1:00 a.m. while some other travellers were said to have escaped during the attack.
The Northern part of the country has been under the grips of bandits and their activities have extended to the North-East, as residents of various communities are now in panic.
In a related development, notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, was on Saturday night said to have led his gang to the Bargaja community in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, resulting in the deaths of three people.
Sources close to the community told Impact Nigeria News Online on Sunday evening that several women and children were abducted, though the exact number could not be confirmed.
