Police on trail of gunmen who abducted woman in Bolumole area of Ring Road, Ibadan

Men of the Oyo State Police Command are currently on the trail of gunmen who abducted a woman at her residence in Bolumole area of Ring Road, Ibadan, the state capital.

The woman, Mrs Adetutu Aderibigbe, was abducted by four gunmen at the entrance of her residence on Wednesday around 6:00 p.m. and her whereabouts have remained unknown.

According to the state police command in a statement on Friday, April 10, the woman was abducted at the Bolumole area of Ring Road, contrary to reports that she was abducted at the Challenge area of the city.

The command added that findings indicated that four armed men wearing masks trailed her to her residence and accosted her at the gate while she was attempting to enter her premises.

After accosting her, she was forcefully taken away in an unregistered black Lexus vehicle while a family member, who was present at the scene, was left unharmed.

The command said on being alerted about the incident, police officers swung into action as the Control Room passed information to various formations and as well escalated it to relevant tactical units.

“Detectives were swiftly deployed to the scene for on-the-spot assessment.

“Surveillance and intelligence efforts have also been intensified to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe rescue of the victim,” the command stated..

The command assured the public that the command had deployed all necessary resources to secure the victim’s release and apprehend those responsible for the heinous act.
