The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road in Ibadan over allegations that the property was used as a hideout by suspected kidnappers involved in the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her children.
The demolition exercise was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with security operatives from the Nigeria Police Force providing protection during the operation.
Government officials said the action forms part of ongoing efforts by the state administration to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across Oyo State.
Authorities alleged that the building was connected to the criminal network responsible for the abduction, prompting its demolition in line with the state’s crackdown on properties linked to criminal activities.
The move underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening security and dismantling structures allegedly used to facilitate crime within the state.
