A man who was abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits two months ago along a highway in Kano State has again been kidnapped alongside two other residents of a community in Zamfara State
The man, Alhaji Ibrahim Danladi, was abducted on Sunday night when the bandits on motorcycles invaded an area behind Ummaru Mamuda Primary School in Kaura Namoda town, Zamfara State and went away with him and two others, a male and female.
A source close to the community told Impact Nigeria News Online on Monday afternoon that what makes his abduction more heartbreaking is that this will be the second time Alhaji Danladi was taken away by marauders.
According to the source, two months ago, he was abducted while returning from Kano after a business trip and regained his freedom after family members paid an undisclosed amount as ransom.
It could however not be ascertained as of the time of this report if the abductors had established contact with the family regarding payment of ransom for his second release.
In another positive development, men of the state police command on Sunday afternoon rescued two kidnap victims after intercepting a man who was taking 10 kegs of petrol to bandits as ransom for the release of his father and brother.
It was gathered that after intercepting the product, the operatives moved into the forest, confronted the kidnappers in a gun duel and rescued both victims.
They were eventually taken away from the forest, profiled before reuniting them with their family members.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem on residents of various communities, killing some and abducting others.
In many instances, while the marauders have field days carrying out the attacks unchallenged, the various state governments and security agencies seem to be looking the other way.
