A lady is currently in the net of the Kano State Police Command after she used a knife to sever the genital of her boyfriend after she discovered his plan to dump her and marry another woman.
The lady, Maimunatu Idris, aged 25 years, was said to have carried out the act around 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, at Durbar Hotel, Badawa.
It was gathered that following the cry by the man after the genital was cut, the management of the hotel lodged a report at the Badawa Divisional Headquarters of the command and on receipt of the report, police operatives raced to the scene.
At the scene, the lady, who had already been locked inside one of the rooms by hotel officials was promptly arrested, the knife used to carry out the act recovered while the boyfriend was rushed to the Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital for medical treatment.
During her interrogation, she was said to have told the police operatives that she carried out the act because she was angry as the man she had spent a few years with wanted to dump her for another woman.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID for further investigation after which she is expected to be charged to court.
