Some bandits on Wednesday night invaded the home of a man during raid on a community in Kebbi State, severing his right arm and also abducting his wife and son.

The bandits were said to have invaded Suru community in Dakingari Local Government Area of Kebbi State in the dead of the night, attacked the man, Muhammad Umar Shema and apparently following his resistance, they severed the arm.

After inflicting the injury on him, they also went away with his wife, son and an undisclosed number of residents into the forest.

A source close to the community told Impact Nigeria News Online on Thursday afternoon that some residents complained that they told security agencies when they got wind of the impending attack but alleged that they didn’t get any response.

The source added that the community has been deserted as residents said they feared that another set of bandits may return to launch another attack.

In another development, reports said families from Unguwar Lalle community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State have been forced to flee their homes as insecurity continues to spread.

With only a few belongings in their hands, many of them left on Thursday morning without knowing where they will spend the night or what awaits them.

The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem on residents of various communities in the states, killing some and abducting others for ransom.

While the residents are groaning under the yoke of attacks, the state government and security agencies seem to be looking the other way.
