The atmosphere at the Redemption City of God along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been charged with faith, worship and expectation as thousands of worshippers from Nigeria and across the world gather for the 74th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), themed “Mountain Movers.”
The week-long convention has featured fervent prayers, soul-lifting worship, life-changing Bible teachings and inspiring ministrations by the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, alongside other ministers of the gospel. As the programme approaches its grand finale on Friday with the much-anticipated Holy Ghost Service, attendees say they have already witnessed remarkable answers to prayer and divine interventions.
Interviews with worshippers and vendors across the convention grounds reveal a common testimony – God is moving mountains, answering prayers and changing lives.
Oluwatoyin Nsini-Godwin, proprietor of Hadassah Royal and a long-time convention vendor, described this year’s gathering as the most impactful she has witnessed in nearly nine years of participating in RCCG conventions.
According to her, the turnout from the opening day exceeded expectations, while the atmosphere of faith and expectancy has continued to grow.
“Every year there is something new, and I believe next year’s convention will be even greater,” she said.
Beyond business, the convention became a deeply personal milestone for her after she was ordained as a deaconess during the programme.
She described the ordination as a divine testimony and said she continually prays that every customer who visits her stand will experience God’s intervention.
“My prayer is that everyone who patronises Hadassah Royal will experience divine turnaround, breakthroughs and every mountain in their lives will be removed,” she said.
Another worshipper, Mrs Adetunji Motunrayo from Lagos, said she came to the convention believing God for His manifestation in her life.
She disclosed that prayers she had carried for a long time had already received answers during the convention.
“The messages, praise and worship have been amazing. God has already begun to answer my prayers,” she said.
Dr Patrick C. Oriji, who travelled from Sango-Ota, Ogun State, described the convention as a life-transforming experience that has exceeded his expectations.
He praised the ministrations by Pastor Enoch Adeboye and other ministers, including Pastor Moses Aransiola, saying each day’s programme had been richer than the previous one.
“The choir ministrations have been powerful, and every message has strengthened my faith. This convention has renewed my confidence in the power of prayer,” he said, adding that he intends to embark on six days of special prayers after the convention.
For Bello Zion, a first-time attendee and student of the University of Ibadan, the convention became the turning point she desperately needed.
She recalled arriving at the camp emotionally burdened after a difficult meeting with her university’s Vice Chancellor shortly before her examinations.
“I almost decided not to come,” she said. “But a friend encouraged me to seek God’s presence first.”
Despite arriving late with fellow students from her campus fellowship, she said they were unexpectedly provided accommodation.
More significantly, she later received a message from her course representative informing her that the Vice Chancellor had instructed that she should no longer be concerned about the earlier issue.
“I knew it was God’s intervention,” she said.
As testimonies continue to emerge, anticipation is building for Friday’s Holy Ghost Service, the grand climax of the convention.
Thousands more worshippers are expected to converge on the Redemption City of God for what has become the most anticipated session of the annual gathering. The service will feature fervent worship, prayers, miracles, prophetic ministrations and a special message by Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.
For those who have not yet attended this year’s convention, the invitation remains open. The experiences already shared by participants point to a week marked by faith, hope and lives transformed.
The grand finale promises another opportunity to encounter God, believe for the impossible and witness mountains give way. Whether trusting God for healing, restoration, breakthrough, direction or a fresh encounter with Him, Friday’s Holy Ghost Service offers a moment to join thousands of believers in seeking His presence.
As the 74th Annual Convention reaches its climax, one message echoes throughout the Redemption City: the God who moves mountains is still at work.
