Some angry youths on Sunday afternoon confronted a Hausa actor in Katsina metropolis and threatened to beat him up for singing in support of the 2027 ambition of President Bola Tinubu.
The angry youths were said to have converged on Dandagoro area of the metropolis and confronted the actor, Musa Mai Sana’a, at the “Welcome to Katsina” gate after he arrived with a megaphone and began singing in promoting Tinubu.
It was gathered that the actor climbed the top of the gate and began cataloguing what the president had done for the state, an action that infuriated the youths.
The youths were said to have warned him to come down from the gate top and stop praising Tinubu, telling him that it was not the right place to campaign for the president.
Tension was said to have quickly risen, with some of them attempting to hit him with various objects, including stones, sticks and others, but security personnel were invited to the scene who intervened and got him out safely.
An X user who was at the scene of the incident posted a video where the man was being escorted out of the area and the youths were insulting him and shouting him down.
As the man was being led away in a vehicle, his cap fell off from his head and he didn’t bother to pick it while some of the youths were seen shouting “Babayi.”
