A tailor from Kebbi State has been declared wanted by authorities in Niger Republic after he was said to have stabbed his colleague to death during an argument.
The tailor, Mas’udu Saidu Gulma, from Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, was declared wanted after allegedly stabbing the man, Mohammed Sani, from Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, to death with a dagger.
Both men were said to be working together in the same tailoring shop in the Agadez area of Niger Republic and in the course of their work, they had a heated argument on Tuesday night before going to bed.
However, Mas’udu Saidu Gulma was not happy about how the argument went and late in the night, he woke up, picked up a knife and stabbed Sani while he was fast asleep.
Sani’s cry for help a little after midnigh attracted neighbours who came to the scene, saw him in a pool of blood and rushed him to hospital. Doctors reportedly battled to save his life, but despit their efforts till early morning of Wednesday, he succumbed to the injury from the stabbing.
A source in the know of the incident told Impact Nigeria News Online on Thursday morning that after carrying out the act, Gulma fled immediately and remains at large, while the Nigerien police, who were alerted of the incident, have declared him wanted.
The remains of the victim, according to the source, were buried on Wednesday in the country in accordance with Islamic rites.
