In what could be described as a law of Karma, three men have met their Waterloo after they killed a boy they sold to bandits in Katsina State.

According to reports, three men from Jibia Local Government Area of the state conspired and kidnapped the 12-year-old boy and handed him over to bandits after which they informed the boy’s parents that he had been abducted by the bandits.

The bandits were said to have made contact with the boy’s parents through the phone number given to them by the men, demanding for N10 million as ransom.

However, after the parents paid an unspecified amount to the bandits, the marauders handed over the boy back to the men to take him to his parents. They also gave them their own share of the ransom.

However, due to the fact that they knew the boy and feared he could tell his parents that they were those who kidnapped him, the men stopped in the bush on their way, killed him and left his body there.

A source in the know of the incident told Impact Nigeria News Online on Wednesday morning that when the boy did not return home despite the payment of ransom, his parents contacted the bandits and they were told that he had already been released to the three men.

On hearing what the boy’s parents told them, the bandits lured the men back to the forest by telling them that the parents had sent more money as ransom which made them to return to the bandits enclave.

On their arrival, they were detained and questioned regarding the whereabouts of the boy. They were said to have confessed that they had killed the boy and revealed where they left his body.

The three men were subsequently shot dead by the bandits in anger.

“It is a tragic and disturbing case. But how long will civilians continue to assist bandits in kidnapping innocent people, collecting ransom and concealing their crimes?” the source asked.
