A Nigerian lawyer based in London has expressed worries over rampant cases of Nigerians dying unnecessary in the United Kingdom as a result of immigration issues and poor health.

The lawyer, Dele Olawanle, who is also a pastor, gave the worrisome situation on his X handle on Friday morning, saying he had received many reports about fellow Nigerians giving up the ghost unnecessarily.

There have been reports of deaths of Nigerians catalogued by the Nigerian Community in UK. The reports indicated that Nigerians are dying in the kingdom almost on a monthly basis.

However, according to Olawanle, in the last few week, he had heard about several Nigerians who he said lost their husbands and wives.

He wrote: “Fellow Nigerians, many fellow Nigerians are dying unnecessarily in the UK. My ears are full, and my mind is sorrowful.

“Some are dying because of pressure over immigration matters, and many are dying because of poor health.

“If you have immigration issues, do your best, then let go of the rest. Immigration status does not guarantee success in life. There are other determinants.

“If your health is poor, do not overwork yourself to pay the bills and lose your life. Get the medical attention you need and try to rest.

“In the last week, I have heard of people who lost their husbands and wives. Several of them. It is tiring. Please look after yourself.”
