Akindele, who is also one of the passengers of the flight, said the passengers, including elderly persons, were stranded since 6:30 a.m. on Friday “with no proper communication.”
According to her, passengers are still sitting without any hope of travelling, hungry, exhausted, and without their bags.
She added that elderly passengers are struggling, families are tired and there are no clear updates from the airline officials.
She disclosed that at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, after almost 10 hours of waiting at the airport, there was no proper communication while the passengers luggage had not been released to them.
However, Air Peace issued a statement on the incident on Friday evening, saying passengers affected have been communicated on its next line of action.
The statement reads: “We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that our London (Gatwick) – Lagos service today experienced a bird strike. “In line with standard safety protocols, the affected aircraft has been grounded for comprehensive inspection and necessary checks by our engineering team in London.
“We sincerely empathise with passengers affected for any inconvenience caused by this unforeseen incident and appreciate your patience. Passengers affected have been communicated on our next line of action as we work diligently to minimize disruptions across our network.
