The Federal Capital Territory has recorded three cases of coronavirus as the list rises to 22.
According to the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehinare, the country recorded 10 new positive cases in Lagos, the FCT, Ogun and Ekiti states.
The Minister, on Saturday, said Lagos has 16 cases, while the Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, has three cases.
Ogun state and Ekiti also have two and one cases respectively.
“Two have been discharged,” the Minister said. “All cases are clinically stable and receiving adequate care.”
All ten new cases are Nigerian nationals and nine of them have a travel history to Canada, France, Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the Minister said.
The 10th case is a close contact of a previously confirmed case.
Meanwhile the Federal Government said it will shut down the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos; and Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Capt. Musa Nuhu, disclosed this in a statement.
The closure will last April 23, according to Nuhu, adding emergency and essential flights would be operated from both airports within the period.
He said the measure is expedient due to the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic which increased geometrically from 12 to 22 cases on Saturday.
He noted that domestic flight operations would continue normally in all airports in the country.
