Bafana Bafana likely to face Nigeria, Cameroon for the 2019 Africa cup of Nations
The Bafana Bafana is likely to receive a tough draw for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations following the allocation of pots on Thursday.
Pot 3 was allocated to South Africa with the 24 sides divided up according to FIFA’s latest rankings, with the final draw scheduled for Friday.
On Stuart Baxter’s team, they are Uganda, Benin, Mauritania, Madagascar and Kenya alongside them (South Africa) in Pot 3, which means that they would not be regarded among the likely top two countries in their group.
Pot 1 consists of Egypt (the host), defending champions Cameroon, Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria and Morocco.
Meanwhile DR Congo, Ghana, Mali, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Algeria make up for Pot 2.
Zimbabwe, Namibia, Guinea-Bissau, Angola, Tanzania and Burundi which are the lowest-ranked sides made up pot 4.
On CAF website, Namibia’s coach, Ricardo Manetti said, “I want to avoid the Egyptian team. It would be difficult to play against the Pharaohs in front of their audience.”
