Some bandits invaded a community in Kaduna State and killed an Islamic cleric shortly after he conducted a Quranic Tafsir at a mosque.
In Islam, Tafsir means the process of understanding and explaining the meanings of Quranic verses in order to grasp the context, language, and message of the Quran.
However, the bandits on Wednesday evening stormed the Layin Dan’auta community of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed the cleric, Alaramma Malam Bello, while he was gathering firewood for cooking at home.
A competent source told Impact Nigeria News Online on Thursday night that the man was killed a few minutes after he led the Tafsir at the JIBWIS Jumu’ah mosque in the community and his killing threw the entire community into panic and confusion.
The source added that his killing comes despite publicly announced ‘peace deals’ and mediation efforts with armed groups in the area.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits who unleash terror on residents of various communities, killing some and abducting others.
