A man who was abducted by bandits in Zamfara State a few days ago has been killed after the bandits collected the sum of N2 million, N70,000 recharge cards and two mobile phones.
The victim, Malam Zaidu Mada, was abducted along the Kwatarkwashi-Mada highway in the state and after his abduction, the marauders demanded for ransom from his family.
However, after collecting the ransom, they eventually killed him and dumped his body along the road.
A source close to the community told Impact Nigeria News Online on Friday, January 23, that the remains of the man were found by some community members and were buried on Thursday evening according to Islamic rites.
His death has thrown the community into mourning, just as the members of the community have become apprehensive over attacks by bandits.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash terror on residents in various communities, killing some and abducting others.
Some of the bandits also impose levies on communities in order to guarantee their safety while some resort to signing “peace deals’ with the communities which they mostly violate.
