Some bandits said to be loyal to notorious bandits leader, Bello Turji, on Wednesday night stormed a community in Sokoto State, killed two persons, injured three others and abducted eleven people comprising ten women and a man.
Bello Turji is a notorious Nigerian terrorist and bandit leader operating primarily in northwestern Nigeria, particularly in Zamfara, Sokoto and Katsina states and he has been involved in banditry since 2011.
He’s known for leading a group responsible for numerous massacres, terrorist attacks and kidnappings, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, including women and children.
However, an impeccable source told the Impact Nigeria News Online on Thursday morning that the bandits loyal to him invaded the Kurawa community in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing two persons, injuring two others and going away with the 11 persons.
It was gathered that the bandits, said to be more than 20, came on motorcycles in the night when the residents were preparing to sleep, shooting sporadically and attacked residents who attempted to escape.
The gunshots were said to have hit two of them who died instantly while two other were seriously injured. The bandits thereafter took the abducted residents into the forest.
As of the time of this report, there was no statement regarding the incident either from the state government or any security agencies.
Sokoto State and other states in the North-West have been under the grip of attacks from terrorists and bandits who used to invade communities, kill residents or abduct them and thereafter demand for ransoms.
