Azeez Fashola, an upcoming musician, alias Naira Marley, has been remanded in the prison custody.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos made the remand order on Monday morning shortly after the musician was arraigned before him on 11 counts, bordering on credit card fraud.

Naira Marley had pleaded not guilty to the cyber fraud charges pressed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The judge however adjourned request for bail application filed by the defence counsel, Taiwo Oreagba, on behalf of his client till Thursday May 30.

Meanwhile, Nigerian artiste, Zlatan Ibile, has released a music video despite his ordeal with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to address those who snitched on him when he was in EFCC custody.

Zlatan was of recent arrested and paraded by EFCC together with Naira Marley and three others over their alleged involvement in Internet fraud.

They were arrested on Friday, May 10 which happened to be Naira Marley’s birthday.

However, after four days in the EFCC custody, the anti-graft agency freed Zlatan Ibile and three others on administrative bail but still detained Naira Marley on the claims that Naira Marley had some incriminating items on his seized laptop and phone.

The artist after being freed has released a music video titled ‘4 days in Okot Eboh’ to convey his disappointment in regards to those he believed snitched on him while he was in the EFCC net.

Zlatan made the song public on his Instagram page on Sunday and advised snitches not to be quick to judge because nobody is holy.

Zlatan titled the song “Okot Eboh” which is the name of the street in Ikoyi, where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office is located in Lagos and where he was detained.

The song was largely sung in Yoruba and it started with a Yoruba proverb that loosely translates as “pretend you were dead, see who will shed tears over your death. Pretend to be broke and see who’ll ignore you”.

Other lines in the song, thus translates:

“My people know me, forget the fact that they tried to give me a bad name.

“So, you too can talk (about me) like this and you call yourself my friend. We eat and drink together. Just four days and you can’t hide your hatred for me. You guys didn’t expect me to return. Nobody is holy and don’t be quick to judge”.

According to report, his video comes in four days after his release was secured.
