Nigeria president, Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Faisal Shuaib as Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
The confirmation of Shuaib’s tenure extension for another 4 years term was contained in a letter signed by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha. The appointment will take effect from January 10, 2020.
In 2014, Shuaib led Nigeria’s battle against Ebola disease as Head/Coordinator of the Emergency Operation Centre.
The medical doctor and public health specialist was a Senior Programme Officer at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) in Seattle, United States.
Shuaib who was first appointed in January 2017 also received commendations after Nigeria was certified Wild Polio Virus free by the World Health Organization (WHO) on August 25.
