A three-storey building collapsed early Thursday on Asesi Lane, near Adeniji Adele Road in Lagos Island, prompting an emergency response and rescue operation. The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the incident in a post on Facebook, stating that four individuals have so far been pulled from the rubble and taken to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other relevant agencies swiftly arrived at the scene to coordinate rescue efforts and prevent further harm.
As of the time of reporting, the area remains cordoned off as rescue operations continue. Authorities have urged residents to stay clear of the site to allow for an unhindered emergency response.
More updates are expected as investigations into the cause of the collapse continue.
