Gracious David-West, the 26-year-old man accused of serial killings of women in Port Harcourt has been sentenced to death by a Rivers State High court presided by Justice Adolphus Enebeli.
Gracious was caught in a commercial bus travelling to Uyo in Akwa Ibom state, 45 minutes away from Port Harcourt after CCTV had captured him leaving a hotel and the circulated photo went viral on social media.
Most of the victims he strangled were sex workers in hotel rooms across Nigeria between July and September 2019.
His mode of operation is to threaten his victims with a knife and prevent them from raising alarm. Before killing them he robbed them of money, ATM cards and other valuables.
David-West, who is to die by hanging, was born in the fishing town of Buguma in Rivers state.
