Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has reversed the state decision to lift ban on the closure of market and places of worship.

The state had announced last Thursday that markets and places of worship in the state could reopen for services.

It also directed workers on grade levels one to 12 asked to stay at home about two months ago to resume work on June 1, 2020 but advised that they always wear face mask and maintain social distancing as they go to work.

However, the state made a U-turn on that decision on Sarturday, when Governor Ortom said it will no longer push for the re-opening of worship places and market.

The Governor said, the change of mind on the matter was sequel to the federal government’s advice to states to be cautious about restarting economic and social activities.
