The Delta State Police Command has uncovered a drug distribution network that used dispatch riders and a hotel as cover for illicit operations.
Command spokesperson SP Bright Edafe said intelligence reports showed that some dispatch riders, posing as couriers, were transporting hard drugs and cannabis across different locations.
He added that a group of women aged between 20 and 25 were also arrested after lodging in a hotel for months. The hotel, according to police, served as both a hideout and sales point for drugs.
Investigators revealed that the women relied on the dispatch riders to move substances from one point to another while also selling directly to customers at the hotel.
Police say investigations are ongoing and have vowed to sustain the crackdown on drug trafficking in the state.
