(DEVELOPING STORY): Helicopter crashes in Igbokoda, Ondo State, all on board feared dead

A helicopter crashed at the riverine community of Igbokoda, headquarters of the Ilaje Local Government Area of in Ondo State, on Monday, October 5, with all on board feared dead.

Rescue efforts by men of the naval base in the area as well as other agencies were ongoing at the crash site in the swampy area.

Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area, Mr Maurice Oripelaye, while confirming the incident, said: “We have confirmed that a helicopter crashed in the area, but we cannot ascertain the number of people that were on board yet. Military gear was found at the scene.”
