Fifteen men have been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for their involvement in illegal dealing in what the agency described as “radioactive solid minerals.”
The men were intercepted and arrested last Sunday along Suleja-Maji Road, Niger State, by the operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the agency while conveying the materials in three trucks to several locations across Nigeria for an undisclosed purpose.
According to information on the website, “radioactive solid minerals” are natural solid ores or rocks containing elements like uranium, thorium, or their decay products that emit radiation (naturally occurring radioactive materials).

It was gathered that the operatives got intelligence reports about their activities which made them to stop the men on the road and arrest them.
The men are currently undergoing further investigations in the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the commission and will soon be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
