The governor said the perpetrators intend to instigate reprisal attacks and to dustup the peaceful elections in the state.

The governor through the spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan had on Friday disclosed that 66 persons including 22 children and 12 women were killed by unknown gun men in Kajuru local government.

He said security agencies in the state are already on the trail of the suspected killers.

Reacting to the killing, Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC while condemning the killing described the act as barbaric, inhuman and provocative.

In a statement signed by the director of the group, Professor Ishaq Akintola, the organisation described the killing as horrendous and cowardly. “It is calculated to truncate the general elections and also provoke reactions.

“It is nothing but a terrorist act. No more, no less. The culprits must be apprehended, we strongly condemn the killings. Those who target vulnerable and innocent women and children for merciless killings deserve due punishment,” he said.

The group charged the commissioner of Police in the state to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.
