The House of Representatives is in vigorously pursuing impeachment process against President Donald Trump over an alleged pressure he mounted on Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his other political rivals who have business interests in the Eastern European Country.
The Democratic Party, that controls the House of Representatives have been feasting on the various political jabs against Trump since he took office. The Ukraine issue is the latest, even as the country prepares for election next year.
In spite the impeachment scare with about 49 percent of the country supporting his impeachment and removal from office, his Republican party remaining loyal to him with 90 percent of the Republicans against his removal.
Amid these distractions, the Trump administration has recorded landmark achievements considering his business background prior delving into active politics.
Currently the unemployment rate according to Trump has “recently ached the lowest in 51 years.” he said this when he appeared at the Economic Club of New York. As at October, the unemployment rate stood at 3.6 percent; the lowest rate since 1969.
In June, according to the United States Bureau of Labour Statistics, employers added 224,000 jobs. The manufacturing sector alone added 17,000 jobs.
In two and half years in office, manufacturers added 499,000 jobs expanding what was 185,000 in the last two and half years of Obama’s administration from 1.5% to 4.0%. Within the same period some 314,000 manufacturing jobs were added under Trump. All these developments were beyond what economists expected of the US economy.
Also in the area of social welfare the Trump administration have been able to lift about 4 million Americans off food stamps.
According to the US government data, 44.2 million people were participating in the Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Programme in 2016 prior to Trump’s assumption of office. In 2018 however the number has dropped to 40.3 million people participating in the programme, making it a decline of 3.9 million people off the food stamp programme.
On global security, Trump has been able to cripple the wave of Islamic group terrorism. The recent elimination of the ISIS’s leader, Abu Bakr Baghdadi is highly commendable.
Before he took office, the economy of the United States was weak with employment rate sleepy, but his business background played a big role to restore vibe and energy into the economy of the country. One can only hope that all these would speak for Donald Trump as the Democratic Party members in the House of Representatives hang on to the impeachment process to get him out of office. Whatever may be the intention of the Democrats, one cannot but factor in the 2020 election. They are sure uncomfortable with a Trump against any of their candidates in the November 3, 2020 election.
